Future of Commerce and Leadership

November 1, 2023
Texas State University Round Rock Campus

Program Information

The movement from the era of digitalization to intelligence and from the age of cooperation to co-opetition disrupts every industry. Leaders must plan for the future and be ready to respond to what cannot be anticipated. This fall, the McCoy College of Business at Texas State University, in collaboration with the Emerson Group and the Future Commerce Initiative, will host the Future of Commerce and Leadership. The program will take place at Texas State's Round Rock Campus on November 1, 2023.

This program offers business professionals the opportunity to build and strengthen capabilities required to lead in the future of commerce. Drawing upon the extensive experience of industry and academic experts, the discussions will equip commercial leaders with insights into the future of commerce (i.e., how buyers and sellers will connect) and sources of advantage in the 2030 world. The program aims to educate, provide time to reflect, and enable action: what to do now and learn next.

Expectations

This program utilizes a discussions-led approach to learning that will include Harvard Business School case studies. Participants should plan for 1-2 hours of reading and pre-work before attending and can anticipate engaging in collaborative discussions. Food and beverage breaks and lunch will be provided. Following the classroom experience, a networking reception will be held on campus.

Syllabus

Will be released in early October.

Networking Reception

This event will conclude with a networking reception for all attendees.
