Mission and Goals

The mission of the MSDAIS program is to produce graduates with the skills required to be proficient in data analytics and information systems. The MSDAIS program is designed to prepare students to use information systems and quantitative skills to conduct data analysis. Graduates of this program will be capable of transforming organizational data into actionable information using data analytics and information systems skills.

To achieve this mission, the following goals/learning outcomes are the focus of the curriculum and instruction in the program.

  1. Students will demonstrate critical thinking skills necessary to define and solve problems.
  2. Students will demonstrate analytical skills to develop data-driven solutions for problems.
  3. Students will have the ability to analyze large datasets and develop modeling solutions to support decision making.
  4. Students will apply knowledge and technical skills to perform prescriptive analytics.
  5. Students will design and implement data management strategies.
