McCoy College Awards Six New Endowed Professorships

SAN MARCOS, Texas — McCoy College of Business at Texas State University has awarded six new endowed professorships to its faculty members. Each endowed professorship carries a three-year term. See below for further information.

Dr. Indu Ramachandran

Associate Professor, Department of Management

Dr. Indu Ramachandran

Scott Emerson Professorship in Business Administration, 2022-2024

Dr. Indu Ramachandran plans to use her professorship to organize a Texas Management Research Consortium and host related events, launch a student strategic management case competition, organize “Meet the Editors” sessions for her colleagues, and increase industry engagement through a management speaker series.

Dr. Josh Daspit

Associate Professor, Department of Management

Dr. Josh Daspit

Dean Paul R. Gowens Excellence Professorship in Business Administration, 2022-2024

Dr. Josh Daspit plans to use his professorship to further develop his entrepreneurial mindset curriculum for students, devote time to the SCALEUP initiative, and launch a student entrepreneurship research group.

Dr. Tahir Ekin

Associate Professor,
Department of Computer Information Systems and Quantitative Methods

Dr. Tahir Ekin

Steven R. “Steve” Gregg Excellence Professorship, 2022-2024

Dr. Tahir Ekin is also serving as Texas State University's Presidential Fellow for 2021-2022. He plans to use his endowed professorship to focus on his growing partnership with the U.S. Air Force and related grant opportunities, create a “Data Analytics Road map” that in part will facilitate more robust student placement opportunities, seek commercialization of software projects, and help develop the Data Analytics minor.

Dr. Stephanie Solansky

Associate Professor, Department of Management

Dr. Stephanie Solansky

Garland Hunnicutt, Ph.D. Professorship in Management, 2022-2024

Dr. Stephanie Solansky plans to use her professorship to focus on CSR and sustainability issues, via a professional development program for students, a research symposium, a research affinity group, a guest speaker program, student conferences, and a case competition.

Dr. Linda Alkire

Assistant Professor, Department of Marketing

Dr. Linda Alkire

Brandon Dee Roberts Excellence Professorship, 2022-2024

Dr. Linda Alkire plans to use her professorship to support research data collection, support Honors and graduate student research, take underrepresented minority students to conferences, and segue into a leadership role with the Sales Center.

Dr. Janet Payne

Professor, Department of Finance and Economics

Dr. Janet Payne

Tom & Jo Roddy Professorship in Finance, 2022-2024

Dr. Janet Payne plans to use her professorship to launch a three-year series of machine learning workshops for her colleagues in finance and other disciplines, culminating in a machine learning research showcase.
