Karsten graduated from Texas A&M University in 2008 with a degree in Agricultural Economics. Following graduation, he went to work for Equator Expeditions as a whitewater rafting guide in Nepal, Bhutan, and Idaho.
In 2009, Karsten enlisted in the United States Army and received a commission as an infantry officer later that year. Upon graduation from U.S Army Ranger and Airborne schools, he received orders to report to the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Rakkasans). Karsten completed his military service in 2012 and moved to New York City in order to begin a career on Wall Street.
After working for two years in Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Fixed Income Research Group, he moved to Austin to found and run Hapi Drinks, which is a manufacturer of zero-sugar, children’s beverages.
Hapi Water is currently sold in over 2,300 stores nationwide. Wal-Mart, Amazon, H-E-B, Whole Foods, and several other leading regional retailers account for the majority of business for Hapi Drinks. Hapi Drinks aims to be the go-to brand for families looking for great-tasting, zero-sugar products.
