Graduate Programs Assistantship

The McCoy Graduate Programs office is currently seeking a part-time Graduate Assistant. This position is open until filled. Our preference for this position is a current McCoy MBA student attending primarily at the San Marcos Campus. Full-time cohort MBA students are encouraged to apply.

This GA position is 20 hours per week and the schedule is flexible. You will work with and interact with many faculty and staff in the McCoy Dean's Office and will report to MBA Program Director Matt Painter. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating the production of the semi-annual Hooding Ceremony Student video. This video is approximately 15 minutes long and consists mainly of student and faculty testimonials. No technical production or video-editing skills are necessary, only a good attitude and excellent communication and time-management skills.
  • Assisting the McCoy Graduate Programs office with tasks related to the marketing and promotion of the MBA, MAcy, MSAIT and MSHRM programs.
  • Assist with special events including Hooding, Bootcamp, professional development seminars, McCoy Graduate Student Association (MGSA) socials and Bobcat Build.
  • Actively participate in MGSA planning and events. If the student selected for this position is not a MGSA officer at the time they are hired, it is expected that they will apply for a MGSA leadership position at the next available opportunity.

GA positions are a great way to earn some extra money while staying closely connected to the faculty and administrators in your program. You'll get a behind-the-scenes look at the Graduate Programs office and will have the inside scoop on what we do at McCoy.
