Dr. Ramchander's Bio
Sanjay Ramchander became dean of the McCoy College of Business at Texas State University on August 1, 2020. He is a professor of finance and holds the Darren Casey endowed professorship in business. Dr. Ramchander leads the college in its mission to foster an engaged learning community that prepares students for successful business careers.
Prior to joining the McCoy College of Business, Ramchander was the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Programs in the College of Business at Colorado State University where he was responsible for managing the strategy, innovation and partnership development for academic programs in the business school. While at Colorado State, Ramchander received the highest awards in the College for teaching, research, service and overall impact.
As Dean, Ramchander is committed to advancing the college’s mission through innovative educational programs that support student needs for lifelong learning, impactful research that brings new ideas and insights for the practice of business, and collaborative and inclusive engagement with all stakeholders.
As a financial economist, Ramchander’s interests cover a broad range of subjects in the discipline with applications in investments, international finance, and business valuation. His scholarship, which lies at the intersection of asset pricing and investor behavior, is widely published and cited in some of the leading academic journals in the field. Ramchander’s teaching closely aligns with his research interests and includes an important global dimension. He has taught a variety of courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the U.S. and abroad and is the recipient of the Fulbright Scholar award.
Ramchander was raised in Hyderabad, India. He has a Bachelor of Commerce from Nizam College, Osmania University (India) and earned an MBA from Saint Louis University and a DBA in finance from Cleveland State University.
