SMIF Students Awarded 1st Place at G.A.M.E. 2018
Eight McCoy College business students attended the 2018 Global Asset Management Education Forum (G.A.M.E.) VIII held in New York City, March 22 – 24. The McCoy College Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF) team was selected to present its student-managed fund's investment strategy to a portfolio manager and returned home with a first place finish in the Fixed Income Division.

G.A.M.E. featured more than 1,500 participants representing 157 colleges and universities, 41 countries and 46 states. Programming featured 140 keynote speakers, panelists, workshop hosts and judges. Representatives from more than 100 companies and organizations attended.
The McCoy College team included Cordell Brunch, Micheal Madu, Emily Ordonez, Amanda Pownell and Quangqing Zhang. They presented last on the schedule and the judge remarked, "This presentation was the best I have seen all day." He told the students, "My only negative feedback is don't be so nervous – you guys know what you are talking about, so own it!"
Team advisor, Dr. Holland Toles, shared, "The students brought home a trophy that is VERY impressive and we will cherish this experience for years to come.
