Texas State Student Places 1st at Liberty Mutual Competition

Four Texas State students represented McCoy College at the Liberty Mutual Southwest Sales Competition held October 13. Kiley Barry, Jayton Burba, Dillon Marrs and Oluwasegun Ojo traveled to Houston with faculty coaches Mr. Wayne Noll and Mrs. Vicki West.

The sponsor for the competition was Liberty Mutual Insurance, an american diversified global insurance company and a founding corporate partner for the Center for Professional Sales in the McCoy College of Business.

The competition consisted of two rounds. Round one focused on building rapport and establishing needs when a significant purchase is expected and the second round involved a more complex business situation.

Senior marketing major and Houston native Kiley Barry placed first in the competition and was awarded with a $5,000 scholarship. Barry is expected to graduate with a sales concentration in December 2018. Barry said, "It was an incredible experience to compete against other talented sales students from California to Texas."
