Tiffany Griggs is a graduate of Texas State University's McCoy College of Business with a degree in management with a teacher certification.
Tiffany grew up overseas and moved to Austin in 1997. She returned to college in 2007, after many years as a musician and bartender. She graduated from Temple Junior College at Taylor with an Associates degree in Business, Phi Theta Kappa. The following semester, taking mostly evening classes at Texas State's Round Rock campus, Tiffany was accepted into the University Honors Program, joined Magna Cum Laude and was invited into Beta Gamma Sigma.
In spring 2009 Tiffany led her group in Dr. Bell’s class in a feasibility study for a San Marcos auto repair business called Jungle Jim's Automotive Repair. The research discussed local competition and market strategy, but also traced the steps (and costs) associated with opening any business. Initially modeled on the business that she had just started with her husband, the project soon benefitted from creative input from all team members: not only was it fun, but it also developed practical applications that Tiffany uses in her company today.
Tiffany and her husband Jon Boyer opened Boyar Automotive in Taylor, Texas in 2008. They are enjoying its success: growing sales and market share, satisfied customers and a good reputation. Jon graduated from the University of Texas - Austin in 1997. Today, Jon is an ASE certified L1 Master Tech and is certified in over 15 areas including collision, hybrids, performance, air conditioning, and diagnostics. He builds hot rods and drag races at Little River Dragway near Temple, Texas.
