Larry Kapavik, Owner, Kapavik Transport, LLC
Larry Kapavik began his professional career in management with Wal-Mart in 1992. As a young and enthusiastic manager, he was tasked to assist in creating optimal layouts for new and remodeled stores throughout Texas. Because of many of the changes made in these stores, Kapavik and the team were able to increase sales and improve customer service.
In 1998, Kapavik decided to pursue his dream of opening his own business by forming LK Sand and Gravel, Inc., which specialized in aggregate sales and construction. Several years later, he recognized the need for a brokerage firm to handle logistics for local quarries in south, central Texas, which led to the establishment of Kapavik Transport, LLC in 2005. Currently, he continues in the day to day operations of five companies, all involved within the aggregate industry.
Kapavik grew up in a farming family in Gonzales, Texas, where he was the 9th of 12 children. After graduating from the local high school, he completed his Agriculture Business degree from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University) in 1992. Kapavik currently lives in New Braunfels with his wife, Dr. Robin Robinson Kapavik, a professor of education at a local university, and their three sons, Joseph, Phillip, and Drake.
