Zac Catanzaro, President, Modern Energy Inc.
Zac Catanzaro is the President of Modern Energy, Inc., a privately owned Texas based custom window treatment specialist. Formed in 2008, Modern Energy, Inc has thrived in the booming Austin landscape, creating and installing thousands of custom window coverings for a variety of high profile clients. From Mack Brown to Karl Rove and many others, Modern Energy continues to be extremely visible in downtown Austin with projects in prestigious buildings such as; The Austonian, The W Austin, The Four Seasons, Austin 360, The Springs, Barton Place, Brazos Place, and many more.
Mr. Catanzaro is a Bobcat alumnus, graduating from Texas State University in 2008 with a Bachelors of Business Administration focused on management and entrepreneurship. During his university tenure, Mr. Catanzaro was an active member of the Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization, acting as Vice President his senior year. That year, CEO increased membership, member participation, reduced stale inventory, and started staple fundraisers for the organization - some of which are still around today (the Hot Dog Eating Competition, Golf Tournament, et cetera).
Mr. Catanzaro continues to evolve in his entrepreneurial lifestyle. Currently, he is putting energy into several new projects, from application development to fish farming. No matter how busy he is he always saves time for his first love, music, actively performing around Austin in events such as SXSW, ACL and Formula 1. He will be one of the headliners at this year's Mr. Fest hosted by Texas State University.
Zac currently resides in downtown East Austin, enjoying the opportunities of the growing city. Born in New Jersey, he has been in Texas long enough to call it home. He believes that the strong real estate market, tech industry, and young competition make Central Texas a great place for likeminded budding entrepreneurs.
Matt Werner, CEO, Modern Energy Inc.
Mr. Werner is a Bobcat alumnus, graduating from Texas State University in 2008 with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance and Economics as well as completing the CFP curriculum requirements. Mr. Werner was an active member of the Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization, acting as President his senior year.
Currently Mr. Werner is involved in e-commerce ventures as well managing a privately held olive orchard in Hallettsville, TX. When he is not busy with his nine to five job, Modern Energy, DirectWholesaleSolar.com or his olive orchard Mr. Werner enjoys being outdoors in the Central Texas weather. He currently resides in downtown Austin and has used the Lady Bird Lake jogging trail as his training ground for the Paris marathon this Sunday.
