Brian McCoy, CEO, McCoy's Building Supply
Brian McCoy was born in Galveston, Texas, and graduated from Ball High School in 1972. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1975 with a BBA in finance.
Brian married his high school sweetheart, Wetonnah Lane, in 1976, and they have two grown children. Their son, Reid, earned both his Bachelor and Masters degrees from Texas A&M. He is employed by the State Department. In October, 2006, Reid and his wife, Katherine, had a baby girl and named her Stella – Brian and Wetonnah’s first grandchild! Brian and Wetonnah’s daughter, Meagan is employed at McCoy’s Headquarters and serves on the Board of Directors.
In business, Brian has been actively involved with McCoy’s from the age of 17. Lumber yard worker, truck driver, floor sales, assistant store manager, store manager, merchandise manager, Vice President, Co-President and presently CEO and Chairman of the Board are all positions he has held during the past 35 years. This privately held company operates 87 McCoy locations in 5 states, with annual sales exceeding $550 million. He is also a partner in McCoy Remme Ranches, a cow-calf operation with land holdings in far West Texas.
Brian and Wetonnah attend Solid Rock Church in San Marcos. He serves on the board of the Lumberman’s Association of Texas and Intimate Life Ministries, both headquartered in Austin. Brian also serves on the Board of The Museum of Western Art located in Kerrville. Personal interests include reading, traveling, swimming, walking and horseback riding.
Meagan McCoy Jones, Director of Field Support, McCoy's Building Supply
Meagan McCoy Jones graduated from the San Marcos Baptist Academy in 2000. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Rhetoric and Communication Studies from the University of Richmond where she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, and a Master of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of Texas at Austin.
While in graduate school, Meagan began working part-time at McCoy’s Building Supply in Georgetown, Texas as a salesperson and realized what was always interesting to her as a kid was indeed her true passion; the business and the people of McCoy. Upon graduation, she joined McCoy's full-time in the Corporate Development department with the specific goal of learning all facets of McCoy's Headquarters operations. During that time she also worked with the Texas Legislature on behalf of McCoy's to revise the Business Franchise Tax.
In August 2007, Meagan began a one-year term as Assistant Store Manager of the McCoy's facility in Manchaca, Texas. At the end of her year in the field, Meagan began her current role as the Director of Field Support, focusing on improving the efficiencies of the business while reviewing corporate policies, traveling to McCoy’s 84 locations, and serving as a member of the Executive Team. She is the fourth generation to work in her family's business.
Meagan is a member of the Board of Directors of McCoy Corporation, she serves on the board of the Lumbermens Association of Texas (LAT), she is a Co-Chair of LATs Legislative Committee, and she is a Trustee of LUMPAC, LATs political action committee. Meagan is married to Richard Jones and they currently live in Austin, Texas.
